April was a good month for Guanajuato and its auto parts businesses: they obtained $150 million dollars and will generate 500 jobs.
The arrival to Guanajuato of companies in the auto parts sector announced only in April amounted about $150 million dollars and is expected to create altogether over 500 jobs.
As part of the furor caused by the upcoming start of operations of Honda and Mazda in Guanajuato, more auto parts companies are arriving to the region to ensure a production of around one million cars in the entity.
The latest investment announced in Silao is of the German company Fränkische, which will inject $7 million dollars to install a new plant.
In addition to generating approximately 100 jobs, this leading company in the design, manufacturing and marketing of corrugated pipe, electrical technology and industrial applications, joins the arrival of other companies.
One of them is Nishisawa Cooper, which recently announced its arrival to this same city with an investment of $35 million dollars to manufacture rubber and glass products, and to create about 370 jobs.
The Japanese Ashimori will provide seat belts, while the consortium of AntolinIrausa group and Kasai Kogyo, which will design interior and security products, will invest $37 million dollars. Yorodzu Corp. opens its second plant to manufacture suspensions, with an investment of $ 70 million dollars.
In May were already announced two investments by $45 million dollars more in the entity: Yutaka Technologies, dedicated to the construction of exhausts, engines and brakes, will invest $40 million; and HFI, dedicated to the interiors manufacturing, will invest $5 million.
Mexico managed to rank as the eighth automotive producer globally with the historical figure of 2.68 million units produced, 14.4% more than in 2010.
