Health and beauty, insurance and logistics increase employment

The industrial areas of health and beauty, insurance, as well as logistics, transportation and distribution recorded a higher increase in the creation of jobs, during the first quarter of 2012, according to the OCC employment index.
Jobs in the health and beauty area increased with 544 formal jobs, followed by insurance and reinsurance with 334. Logistics, transportation and distribution sector also reported an increase of 282 jobs, while the manufacturing sector reported an increase of 250 employees.
Mexican states that showed significant growth in the labor force were: Campeche with 235 jobs, Tabasco with 218, Zacatecas with 214; Oaxaca with 202 and Veracruz with 201.
Sectors with the highest number of vacancies in the country were in the area of sales, accounting, and information technology as reported by the OCC employment index. Also, states such as Nuevo Leon, State of Mexico, Jalisco, Veracruz and the Mexico City reported a greater number of vacancies, during the first quarter of 2012.
Employment generation, during the first three months of 2012, excelled in February due to its record offer with 130,416 new formal jobs, according to the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). February 2012 became the month with more generation of jobs in 5 years.
These upward results, however, were not maintained in April due to the decrease of labor activity that occurs annually on the occasion of the Easter holidays. April had a contraction of 7 points, ranging from the 141 to 134 jobs, according to the OCC employment index. (Mexican Business Web)
